WIRED magazine had just posted an article about the first Muslim Sheikh to go into Orbit, ironically its also the first mission to be commanded by a woman. How is THAT for an "obsessive" religion =)

I'm a huge space fan, and I just can't help but smile..eeeeeek I'm so excited for him..masha allah.

ICE YOUR CELL PHONE!!!!! [Oct. 5th, 2006|11:43 am]
Persian Muslims

This is the most important posting on The Black Site.

Put an ICE contact on your phone. ICE stands for In Case of an Emergency.

If you, or a family member is hurt and paramedics need to contact someone, they just look for ICE. This was on ABC NEWS.

If you have a family member who does not speak english....THIS IS INDISPENSIBLE!!!! DO IT NOW. I DID...

If you have multiple contacts for an emergency, put ICE before their name.......I did.

PS: Node, Iranians have emergencies too.....so I don't want to get an email from you asking me why I posted this on PERSIAN MUSLIMS!!!

Opera Cancelled Over Depiction of Mohammad

Severed Heads in IDOMENEO Imperil Opera Chief's Job

I don't know anymore. You know, I am going to make a new year's resolution right here and right now. And that resolution is to NOT go off the deep end and unleash the unholy power of Ray's flame thrower on those with whom I disagree with. Anyway, this past weekend Germany has been rocked, rattled and rolled by the Political Correctness Gestapos (hereinafter PCG).

Look, I don't know anything about theater and I don't know much about the arts. The theater, for me at least, is where I go to see movies.....where Ahnuld just blows shit up. But even there, in the movies we are going to see them for two reasons: 1) escapism if we are going to see the Dukes of Hazzard movie and 2) a healthy discourse between ideas. I believe that Chancelor Merkel also said that as well.

If we are going to allow people in other countries to dictate to us what we can and cannot perform in our own theaters, then we should all just walk into our halls of government and throw our democratic governments in the trash. If that is the case, we don't need freedom of speech. We need a dictatorship. Look, it is one thing to urinate on the Koran during an interogation. It is quite another when there is an intellectual display of ideas that are forced to struggle with each other thus forcing us to question, to question some more and to come up with our own ideas and our own set of conclusions.

I don't know about the rest of you, but there was a similar thing in New York. Some artist had the Virgin Mary on display covered in shit. That was art - according to the artist. There was a big stink about it. But at teh end of the day, no embassies were burned down, city hall did not declare martial law.......why? Because we understood that it was just a painting. So what.......

Look, in the play even Jesus' head was severed. I don't see the Christians complaining; it is a play, they understand that. They do get it. When Da Vinci code came out, some people thought it was offensive......BUT THEY STILL WENT TO SEE IT.

All kinds of art is offensive to some and appealing to others. Some think that Marilyn Manson is offensive...I like the guy. Some think that Ozzy Ozbourne is offensive...the guy rocks.

Its art dude.....no one has to die for it. I think that my bullshit meter says it all......

These are the premises, you tell me what you think [Sep. 27th, 2006|11:40 am]

My question to Iranians regarding their nation's nuke program:

1. your nation takes away your basic rights such as freedom of press and speech.

2. you insist that freedoms of press and speech are essential and your right.

3. your nation has been rallying against the West charging that the nuke program is their inalienable right.

4. you rally behind your nation so that it can secure the rights to a nuke program that it thinks it is entitled to.

QUESTION: How come you DON'T rally against your government to secure the rights you think you are entitled to (i.e. freedom of speech and association). Why do you help another entity to secure its rights when that same entity takes away yours?
